Advocating for “Clean-Up First” of waste before dumping or creating more waste
Preventing Hanford from becoming a National Radioactive Waste Dump for low-level & mixed radioactive waste;
The Energy Department's releasing three separate plans to add more waste to Hanford;
Global Nuclear Energy Partnership: shows we can’t take Obama Administration for granted;
Cleanup of the contamination in the deep soil and groundwater;
Timely and safe establishment of the vitrification plant, which will turn radioactive waste into stable glass logs;
The health and environmental risks of transporting thousands of truckloads of highly radioactive and toxic waste along major highways and through NW communities;
Advocating for cleanup of unlined soil trenches where waste was haphazardly buried for decades;
Addressing health and safety risks of the federal Energy Department’s “acceptable” exposure standards;
Making sure the FFTF reactor stays decommissioned;
Sustaining a sufficient Hanford cleanup budget, especially as stimulus funding comes to an end.
